Hello my name is Mrs. Lynn Camerer. I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. I have been blessed with an amazing family. My husband David and I will celebrate our 19th anniversary this upcoming April. Mr. Camerer works as an Opthalmic Technician at a private eye practice here in town. We have a beautiful 12 year old daughter named Olivia and a precious 7 year old named Grace. Your children will hear a lot of stories about my family throughout the year. We also have a very loyal companion in our 2 year old black lab, Lambeau. He is the highlight of many stories I share at school.
I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in December of 1997 with a Bachelors degree in elementary and special education. After eight years of teaching in an elementary classroom, something was drawing me back to learning in the formal environment. I began my pursuit of a master’s degree in the summer of 2004. I received my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane College in May of 2006.
In January of 2019 I celebrated my twenty first year at Field Club. All of these years have been at the first grade level. I love working with the little ones. They bring so much enthusiasm to the classroom.
My primary goal is to motivate and create the best learning environment for the students I encounter on a daily basis. I believe that I am an expert guide in the lives of my students. I am in my classroom principally to guide the learning while my students perform much of the teaching. I utilize Vygotsky’s apprenticeship experience theory to meet the needs of each of my students. Vygotsky’s zones of proximal development suggests that we design authentic tasks that are more difficult than students may handle alone, but not so difficult that they can’t be resolved with the support of peers or teacher’s who model appropriate strategies. As the school year progresses I believe that the teacher should take small steps away from the “leading” position and let the students gradually take over. As the teacher I am there to model the essential strategies and core ideas for my students. As these elements are achieved, the students are given more responsibility in the classroom and in their learning.
I feel community and parent involvement is essential to a successful school. I think it is necessary to work together with parents, families, administration and community leaders in order to provide the best possible education. I believe that parents should be involved as much as possible and kept well informed of their child’s progress. Good communication between me and the student’s caregivers will provide a better understanding of their child’s day to day life in the classroom, and will therefore lead to qualified decisions and ideas for motivation and improvement.
I am grateful to have a fabulous paraprofessional working in my classroom. Mrs. Pavlik helps out in numerous ways around the classroom. The kids love working with her.
The purpose of this webpage is to provide information to parents and students. Parents will find information on curriculum, school policy and procedures. This site will also help inform you about topics that affect your children on their learning pathway.
If you have any questions or concerns throughout the school year, please feel free to call me, jot me a note in the green book or drop me an email at
