Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for Behavior.

The Omaha Public Schools believes in a proactive, instructional approach to school discipline. Via Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for Behavior (MTSS-B) and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), OPS staff strive to create and maintain positive school environments where students feel welcome, connected, and safe.

At Field Club Elementary, our focus for students is being respectful, responsible, safe and kind. The matrix below shows what that looks like in areas within our school community.

The matrix clarifies which behaviors are expected in each area of our school.  Having consistent expectations, clearly described, allows for positive behavior in all areas. This is intended to make our school a safe learning environment, with decreased instances of disruptive behaviors and less time spent correcting behaviors.
